Weight means: A measure of how heavy an object is. In colloquial English, you can always answer with kilogramms or grammes when asked for the weight. In physics and maths, however, weight is a force and the answer should then be given in Newtons.
German: Was ist das Gewicht dieses Mannes? Antwort: Etwa 80 Kilogramm.
English: What is the weight of this man? Answer: About 80 Kilogrammes.
Physics: What is the weight of this man? Answer: About 800 Newton.
