Thomas Bayes (1701 bis 1761) war ein englischer Mathematiker, Philosoph und Pfarrer. Da er nicht der englischen Staatsreligion, dem Anglikanismus, angehrte, konnte er nicht in Cambridte oder Oxford studieren. Stattdessen studierte er Logik und Theologie im schottischen Edinburgh. Bekannt ist Bayes heute ber den Satz von Bayes ↗
