• Kupfer ist ein sehr guter elektrischer Leiter. Silber ist zwar noch leitfähiger, aber Kupfer ist billiger. Viele Leitungen sind aus isoliertem Kupfer gefertigt. Man erkennt sie an dem rötlichen Metall.

• Der Draht hat einen Durchmesser von etwa 0,75 mm.
