Viertel neun
... German for => a quarter past eight (time of the day)
In German "viertel neun" and "viertel vor neun" must not be confused. The first version means: a quarter on the way from eight to nine o'clock, which is either 8.15 or 20.15. The latter means: a quarter still before us on the way from eight to nine o'clock, which can either mean 8.45 or 20.45.
